For almost seven years, I have had the privilege of serving the Town of Dayton as Clerk, including several years as Clerk/Treasurer. During this time, I have gained firsthand experience in municipal operations, budgeting, public records, public meetings, infrastructure projects, grant administration, and the daily needs of our residents.
I have earned multiple certifications required for the administration and management of public funds, providing me with the knowledge and training necessary to ensure accountability, transparency, and responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars.
I have also worked closely with the Town Attorney, Planning Committee, elected officials, and staff on reviewing, updating, and modernizing Town ordinances to ensure they meet current legal requirements while preserving the character of our community.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is that leadership is never about one person. I have built strong working relationships with my colleagues, and I firmly believe that I am only as good as the team around me. Dayton is fortunate to have dedicated employees, volunteers, board members, and community partners who care deeply about our community’s success.

More About Hanlé
Hanlé Visser is a dedicated public servant, community volunteer, business professional, wife, and mother, who has proudly called the Tongue River Valley home for many years.
Having lived in four different countries throughout her life, Hanlé brings a unique perspective and appreciation for diverse communities, cultures, and approaches to problem-solving. Those experiences have strengthened her belief that strong communities are built through service, accountability, and neighbors working together toward common goals.
For almost seven years, Hanlé has served the Town of Dayton as Clerk, including several years as Clerk-Treasurer. During her first four years with the Town, she also served as Town Administrator, giving her extensive hands-on experience in nearly every aspect of municipal government. For the past three years, Hanlé has continued to serve the Town under a part-time employment contract, providing continuity, institutional knowledge, and ongoing support to municipal operations.
Hanlé holds degrees in both Pharmacy and Business Management and maintains multiple certifications required for public funds administration. Throughout her career in local government, she has gained extensive experience in municipal budgeting, financial management, public records administration, public records requests, human resources, state and federal reporting, ordinance development, grant administration, project management, and municipal operations.
As Dayton's sole Clerk-Treasurer, Hanlé successfully modernized administrative reporting systems, upgraded office security and financial management processes, maintained compliance with state and federal requirements, and passed all State audits while ensuring the efficient daily operation of Town Hall.
During her tenure, Hanlé has worked closely with elected officials, engineers, attorneys, state agencies, committees, and community partners to secure funding and oversee projects that have improved Dayton's quality of life. Among the accomplishments she is most proud of are helping secure funding and oversee improvements to the Art Badgett Pool and Pool House through collaboration with the Scott Foundation, supporting major upgrades to Scott Park including playground improvements, pedestrian bridge enhancements, new picnic shelters, and restroom improvements, and working alongside engineers and funding agencies on the Town's Wastewater Lagoon Upgrade Project and Water Treatment Plant Grant Project.
Hanlé believes strongly in protecting Dayton's investments, maintaining infrastructure, and ensuring taxpayer dollars are spent responsibly while preserving the small-town character that makes Dayton such a special place to live.
Beyond her professional service, Hanlé has been actively involved throughout the community. She has participated in the Big Horn Trail Run, volunteered for the Dead Swede Bike Race, served on a Women Build Team for Habitat for Humanity, assisted with numerous Tongue River High School prom decorations, helped organize Vacation Bible School programs through Dayton Community Church, and coached cheerleading at TRMS for two years.
Hanlé and her husband have been married for 26 years. Her husband serves as Farm Manager for a 33,000-acre farming operation owned by a Canadian company in Montana. Their son is currently a sophomore at Tongue River High School and has attended Tongue River schools since Kindergarten. Their family is deeply invested in the future of the community.
When she is not serving residents or volunteering in the community, Hanlé can often be found helping on the farm in Montana. She operates a variety of agricultural equipment, including John Deere X9 combines, sprayers, windrowers, ProTill equipment, and Kenworth semi-trucks.
Hanlé is running for Mayor because she believes Dayton deserves experienced leadership, responsible financial stewardship, open communication, and thoughtful planning. Her unique combination of municipal experience, financial expertise, community involvement, and proven leadership has prepared her to guide Dayton into the future while protecting the values and character that residents cherish.
